About the position

The Virtual School Educational Assistant - SPED position is designed to support special education students in a virtual learning environment. This role involves assisting teachers in delivering educational content and ensuring that students receive the necessary support to succeed academically. The position requires a commitment to working 7.5 hours per day, with responsibilities that include facilitating learning and providing individualized support to students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering educational content to special education students in a virtual setting.
• Provide individualized support to students with special needs to enhance their learning experience.
• Monitor student progress and report any concerns to the teacher.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.
• Support students in using technology and online learning platforms effectively.

Requirements

• Valid Paraprofessional Certification certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must meet one of the highly qualified standards for Paraprofessionals, including 48 semester hours of college credit, an associate's degree or higher, or a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with special education students is preferred.
• Familiarity with virtual learning environments and online teaching tools.
