About the position

The B2B Sales Consultant at Staples, Inc. is responsible for prospecting and acquiring new small to medium business customers within a defined territory. This high-velocity sales role involves engaging with prospects through various channels, including phone, video, and face-to-face interactions, to drive sales and onboard new accounts. The position requires effective appointment setting, communication of Staples' value propositions, and collaboration with internal teams to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt within defined territory to prospect and win new small to medium business customers.
  • Exhibit effective appointment setting skills and set the required number of appointments each week with decision makers.
  • Utilize professional selling skills to discover prospects' incremental and programmatic needs.
  • Effectively communicate Staples' value propositions, capabilities, products, and assortments.
  • Overcome objections and close sales using prescribed selling tools.
  • Work with customer support, setup teams, and category specialists to progress deals to closure.
  • Implement and ramp new accounts, ensuring compliance with new account/program requirements.
  • Create long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat purchases from Staples.
  • Integrate feedback from prospects into the sales approach.
  • Communicate with prospects daily in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
  • 3+ years experience in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong drive and desire to win.
  • Proven ability to view rejection as a learning opportunity.
  • Experience in business development and consultative selling.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations virtually and in person.
  • Advanced client management skills and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to analyze business and industry trends to create tailored solutions.
