About the position

The FP&A Analyst at Norfolk Southern is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing operating expenses. This role supports business partners in decision-making and conducts ad hoc analyses of financial performance and trends, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze departmental and company operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Create variance analysis reports and financial models for management.
  • Build strong working relationships with business partners and develop a deep understanding of the department's role and contribution to the company.
  • Ensure clear and concise communications between business partners and FP&A.
  • Understand basic accounting principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (minimum level).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (minimum level).
  • Proficiency in SAP/S4, SAC, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
