Requirements

• Minimum Level: 1-2 years of job-related experience.
• Preferred Level: 3-5 years of job-related experience.
• Preferred Level: High School Diploma/GED (BS) in Engineering - Engineering Science.
• Technical Skills: MS Excel/Spreadsheets, MS Outlook, MS Powerpoint/Presentations, MS Word/Word Processing.
• Skills and Abilities: Communication Skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all inspection, repair, modification, and maintenance activities for locomotives and/or cars.
• Monitors quality of repair to locomotives and/or cars to assure high reliability of locomotive and/or car fleet.
• Works with control center on scheduling of locomotives in & out of shop & all train movements to minimize delays to trains & shop production.
• Provides training to subordinates.
• Ensures all procedures & instructions relating to environmental matters are adhered to by employees.
• Ensures quality issues are addressed and that work performed at all locations is in accordance with requirements.
• Ensures employees carry out this work within the parameters of Federal, State, & Corporate Safety Regulations.
• Keeps records of locomotive and/or car work performed on their shift and makes recommendations for improvements in procedure, shop equipment, or facilities.
