About the position
The BA (Funds Accounting) position focuses on analyzing financial data, particularly in custody or back office environments. The role requires a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and the ability to work with various data types across asset classes, including derivatives. The position is hybrid, based in Quincy, MA, and is offered on a contract basis.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data related to trade lifecycle and various asset classes.
- Utilize SQL and Excel for back office data analysis.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify common components and define normalization strategies.
- Apply functional business knowledge to derive platform requirements.
- Transform data into useful data marts for clients/consumers.
- Perform gap analysis between source data and existing data models.
- Implement software or data services effectively.
- Communicate effectively, summarizing information succinctly and providing details as needed.
- Collaborate in a team-oriented, global setting.
- Maintain attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Adapt to changing role requirements and demonstrate flexibility.
- Work independently and be self-sufficient.
Requirements
- Experience with financial data, particularly in custody or back office settings.
- Knowledge of the trade lifecycle and exposure to various data types such as positions, transactions, and income across asset classes.
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills to review and normalize different data sets.
- Ability to derive platform requirements based on functional business knowledge.
- Experience in transforming data into data marts for client use.
- Experience in performing gap analysis between data sources and models.
- Previous experience in implementing software or data services.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience with State Street Back Office systems such as MCH, FDR, or OTC.
