About the position

The BA/QA Analyst role involves the development of software designs, analysis of market documentation, and the creation of settlement calculations using Excel. The position requires collaboration with a team of software professionals and focuses on ensuring the quality and accuracy of software products through testing and support.

Responsibilities

• Creating design documentation for software changes and features
• Facilitating and participating in design reviews and discussions to provide quality insights early in the development process
• Identifying test cases and scenarios based on requirements and specifications
• Creating comprehensive test plans that outline testing scope, approach, and schedule
• Testing requirements and specifications for incorrect or incomplete information, assumptions, and conclusions
• Performing system testing, integration testing, and regression testing as required
• Monitoring one or more ISOs for market changes
• Designing and developing settlement calculations in Excel syntax
• Being a subject matter expert to support the product for clients

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of experience in creating software requirements/designs in an Agile/DevOps development environment
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in testing software for completeness and accuracy
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Basic SQL query knowledge
• Experience with file formats such as XML and JSON is a plus
• Experience with North American Wholesale Power Markets is a plus
