About the position
The BaSE Supervisor position at United Parcel Service Inc. in Sparks, Nevada, is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of facility equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role involves coordinating with mechanics for repairs, conducting facility inspections, and implementing improvements to enhance package flow. The supervisor will also provide necessary training to staff and monitor the status of repairs and preventative maintenance inspections.
Responsibilities
- Assists with overseeing the protection of physical assets, facility and equipment maintenance, and facility housekeeping.
- Assists with identifying and scheduling necessary repairs and preventative maintenance using BaSE mechanics and outside vendors to maintain the condition of the facility.
- Communicates assigned work status to colleagues to determine potential impact on the department's schedule.
- Delivers required regulatory training (e.g., Lockout Training/Hazmat Training) as directed, to BaSE and non-BaSE personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Engineering - Preferred
- Programming experience including troubleshooting, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation including basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting - Preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and simple diagrams
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
