About the position

The Emergency Sitter role at CYC Family Care involves providing immediate care for displaced children during emergency situations. This position requires compassionate and dependable individuals who can ensure the safety and emotional well-being of children in crisis. The role is flexible, with varying assignments that may require working evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate care to children who have been removed from their homes due to emergency situations.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks while accommodating dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including tidying up play areas and children's belongings.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate creativity and encourage social interaction.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all agency policies.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working with children or in caregiving roles preferred.
• Flexibility to work on-call with various hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm demeanor, especially in high-stress situations.
• Must pass a background check and provide necessary documentation for employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a sitter for at least 1 year.
• Overnight shift availability preferred.
• Night shift availability preferred.
• Day shift availability preferred.
