About the position

The House Manager's Network is seeking a professional nanny to provide attentive care for a 3-year-old child in Jersey City, NJ. The role focuses on creating a nurturing and educational environment, supporting the child's development through various activities, and managing daily routines. The ideal candidate will have experience in childhood development and be able to adapt to the family's needs, including occasional evening and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up from school in Tribeca and safely transport the child to Jersey City via ferry or PATH.
  • Provide nurturing and attentive care, ensuring the child's well-being.
  • Create a safe and secure environment, supervising the child and preventing accidents.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities such as reading, arts and crafts, music, and physical exercise.
  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks, accommodating dietary needs or restrictions.
  • Assist the child with daily routines such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Ensure consistent and calming nap time and bedtime routines, including story time and bath time.
  • Track and support the child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Maintain tidy play areas and personal belongings to promote safe play.
  • Provide regular updates to parents regarding the child's day and progress.
  • Help the child develop social skills, manners, and positive behavior through guidance and role modeling.
  • Be adaptable to the family's needs, including schedule changes and additional hours.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in toddler care with knowledge of childhood development, potty training, and child nutrition.
  • Ability to manage child-related tasks such as laundry and maintaining a tidy play environment.
  • Comfortable with public transportation, specifically navigating the ferry and PATH.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with household staff and parents.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus, but not required.
  • Willingness to provide occasional additional coverage during weekends and flexible availability in the evenings.
