About the position

The Back-end Application Developer (Mid) position at Bridge Core involves developing and enhancing APIs, caches, and databases to support business use cases and front-end development for both browser and mobile applications. The role requires implementing software changes and bug fixes while adhering to security and resiliency best practices. The developer will also document and maintain the design of the application backend, contributing to the modernization of government missions and client businesses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance APIs, caches, and databases to support business use cases and front-end development of both browser and mobile applications.
• Implement software and cache/database changes and bug fixes following security and resiliency best practices.
• Follow source code management best practices to ensure appropriate repository management, versioning, and feature release tagging.
• Document and maintain the design of the application backend through architecture diagrams and database designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least 4 years of Python and FastAPI experience.
• At least 4 years of RDBMS experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working with the deployment and management of cloud-based applications.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Proven experience successfully deploying applications to the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with AWS: EKS, EC2, ELB, Lambda, VPC, ECR, RDS, KMS, ElastiCache, Secrets Manager, and IAM.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data lifecycle management tooling such as dbt or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines including GitLab Pipelines, AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy or equivalent.
• Experience with IaC frameworks such as Terraform or equivalent.
