About the position

The Back End Developer role at Robert Half is a long-term contract position based in Houston, Texas. The developer will collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to enhance existing systems and create new solutions to complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Create efficient, reusable, and testable code
• Develop high-availability, low-latency applications for performance enhancement
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Create back-end components and integrate them with other web services and Python applications
• Ensure the security and data protection of all applications
• Fine-tune applications for usability, performance, and automation
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex technical issues
• Contribute to design discussions, perform code reviews, and suggest enhancements
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Python technology.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Django framework is essential for this role
• Experience with PowerShell scripting is required
• Expertise in C# programming language is a must
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to back end infrastructure
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API communications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work under pressure
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
