About the position

FTI is looking for a Back End Software Developer to join our growing team. Candidates must be in or willing to relocate to the DC Metro area or Chantilly, VA. There is some allowance for remote work, but there is a requirement for candidates to report on-site as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications (cloud and/or in-house).
  • Serve as technical expert on development projects.
  • Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
  • Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or similar field of study.
  • 5+ years of Back End development experience.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages, including Java, JEE, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
  • Experience in working with microservices and containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Experience with integration and development tools, including AWS, Docker, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with supporting systems engineering efforts in system design, solution engineering, and software development.
  • Experience with Linux OS and command line interface.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active TS/SCI Clearance.
