Back Server

About the position

The Back Server plays a crucial role in supporting front servers and ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and optimal customer service in a restaurant setting. The Back Server is responsible for replenishing supplies, running food and beverages, and assisting with table maintenance, all while fostering a strong relationship with front servers.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive service at all times.
• Support designated front server by expediting and running food & beverages using a tray.
• Mark tables and polish/replenish flatware and paper goods.
• Replenish CO2 tanks as needed.
• Answer all menu-related questions for guests.
• Assist with ongoing table and floor maintenance, including water service and clearing tables.
• Respond to guest requests or issues by communicating effectively with the proper server or management.
• Assist in cleaning and polishing all tableware.
• Receive instruction from multiple sources and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Support team members in completing their duties to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Recite basic menu knowledge and run food to tables if needed.
• Stock, organize, and prepare service-related items.
• Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history.
• Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels.
• Adhere to grooming and dress code standards.
• Store equipment and materials properly and keep storerooms orderly.

Requirements

• Entry-level position with no prior experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public, staff, and vendors.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, lift, climb, push, pull, stoop, crouch, see, and carry supplies as needed.
