Valtech is looking for a Backend Developer based in Stockholm. We are looking for multiple profiles, both fluent in Swedish, and non-Swedish speaking. A day in the life of a Backend Developer Your role as a Backend Developer and a consultant at Valtech will not only entail providing technical expertise but also understanding the business needs of our clients and effectively communicating how our solutions can address their challenges and contribute to their success. Your responsibilities will encompass every stage of client engagements, from initial discovery to final delivery. This will involve close collaboration with local and regional project teams, both internally at Valtech and alongside our valued clients.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain innovative solutions that meet client requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and methodologies
- Work with modern development practices, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing
- Help maintain system documentation and participate in project reviews
- Actively participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development
- A relevant technical education or equivalent level of experience within computer science, software engineering, application development, backend engineering
- Proven track record of effectively engaging with stakeholders and identifying opportunities to add value to their projects
- Flexibility to work on-site in and around Stockholm multiple times a week
- Solid knowledge of both Java and .NET
- Experience working with cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience working in agile working environment with tools like Jira and Confluence
Nice-to-haves
- Preferable professional working experience from IT consultancy, digital agency, start-up or similar fast-paced working environment
- Comfortable working with containerized solutions (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Any experience or interest to work with Kotlin will be considered as a plus but is not required for this role
