About the position

As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in our technology team, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and services. This position requires a deep understanding of our business processes to effectively take ownership of features from conception through to production. You will be responsible for rapidly designing and building APIs and services that are integral to our operations. Your expertise will be essential in debugging production issues that may arise across various services and levels of the technology stack. In this role, you will adhere to best practices in software development, ensuring that the code you write is high-quality, secure, maintainable, scalable, testable, and efficient. You will work closely with other team members to implement solutions that meet the needs of our users and stakeholders. The position is based in Denver, CO, and is a direct hire opportunity, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate. Our tech stack includes modern technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, GoLang, GRPC, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, PostgreSQL, Typescript (Angular), Swift (iOS), and Kotlin (Android). Familiarity with these technologies will be beneficial as you integrate into our team and contribute to our projects.

Responsibilities

• Deeply learn our business to successfully take ownership of features from idea to production
• Rapidly design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Follow best practices to write high-quality, secure, maintainable, scalable, testable, and efficient code

Requirements

• Proficiency in backend development with experience in GoLang and GRPC
• Strong understanding of API design and development
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Knowledge of database management, particularly PostgreSQL
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Experience in debugging and troubleshooting production issues

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Typescript and Angular
• Knowledge of mobile development using Swift and Kotlin
