About the position

The Backend Java Developer position is a contract-to-hire role focused on developing and maintaining Java-based applications for a Fintech client in the Atlanta area. The ideal candidate will work onsite three times a week in Cumming, GA, and will be responsible for leveraging their expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, SQL, and AWS to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java based applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions across the enterprise.
• Implement and optimize backend services, APIs, and databases, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and database schemas for efficient data management.
• Utilize AWS services for application hosting, storage, and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure best practices are followed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and building microservices.
• Solid knowledge of SQL databases and ability to write complex queries.
• Experience working with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
