About the position

The Senior Object Oriented Developer role focuses on developing a maps navigation application for Android using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The position requires strong expertise in mobile application development, particularly in implementing features that assist drivers while integrating with OEM SDK products. The developer will also provide feedback to API developers and validate the API specifications through practical application development.

Responsibilities

• Programming the locale to support various languages like C++/Java for Android applications.
• Writing Android Services programs to download and upload content from backend web servers via REST API.
• Implementing geo-location tracking using Google Maps API.
• Using native Android technology to optimize app functionality.
• Designing, implementing, and testing the maps app based on OEM SDK API documentation and product requirements.
• Collaborating with senior developers and API developers to implement end-to-end user features including UI, storage, and networking components.
• Providing feedback to API developers.
• Validating the API with its specifications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Android software development.
• 3+ years of experience in Object Oriented Programming and backend application development.
• Proficiency in Kotlin programming.
• Experience with Android SDK and Android ADT.
• Web services experience in Android for optimizing efficient data transfer between device and server.
• Experience in C++ or Java development.
• Familiarity with Git version control.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in head unit and infotainment software development.
• Experience in on-device API development.
• Experience in building maps applications using Mapbox SDK or MapLibre SDK.
