About the position

The Backend PHP Laravel Developer Consultant at ASSA ABLOY is responsible for developing and maintaining RESTful and Micro services for backend management. This role requires proficiency in the Laravel PHP framework and a strong background in application design and architecture. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a team, focusing on delivering high-quality software solutions while continuously improving their skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop RESTful and Micro services for backend management using Laravel PHP framework.
• Design, code, and debug applications to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code while ensuring standards compliance.
• Test, maintain, refactor, and optimize existing software for improved functionality.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance performance and scalability of existing software.
• Integrate backend systems with various external APIs by writing appropriate classes.
• Troubleshoot and fix technical issues as they arise.
• Assist in data standardization and cleanup using both manual and automated methods.
• Produce technical designs and documentation at different levels of detail.

Requirements

• 5+ years of PHP experience, with a focus on Laravel (version 9.x+).
• Strong background in application design and architecture (minimum 2+ years).
• Proficiency in building and interacting with RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with database architecture and design principles.
• Experience with AWS and a good understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work during Eastern Standard Time hours (9 am to 5 pm).
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment.
• Hunger for learning and a strong desire to improve skills and grow with the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• DevOps experience to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Experience with Laravel Vapor for serverless Laravel applications.
• Working experience with Cloud servers such as GCM, Azure, etc.
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch for efficient data querying and analysis.
