About the position

The Adjudication Specialist at Aramark plays a crucial role in the hiring process by reviewing, assessing, and adjudicating background checks across various business sectors. This position ensures compliance with applicable laws and Aramark's internal practices, enabling informed employment decisions. The specialist collaborates with Human Resources, Operations, Compliance, and Global Security to conduct individualized assessments and manage the screening process effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm compliance with Aramark's screening process and applicable laws.
  • Conduct individualized assessments and adjudicate background check results.
  • Collaborate with Global Security and Legal Department for risk assessment.
  • Gather additional facts regarding incidents identified in background checks.
  • Assess job-relatedness of criminal convictions and analyze business necessities.
  • Issue required notices to conditional hires as per Aramark's practices.
  • Document adjudication determinations and communicate them to internal partners.
  • Develop and refine background check processes to meet internal and client needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in human resources, law enforcement, criminal justice, or legal profession.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with criminal offenses and the criminal justice system is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with anti-discrimination statutes, rules, and regulations.
