Backroom Associate

About the position

The Backroom Associate at Marshalls plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining store organization, and adhering to operational standards. This position involves cross-training in various store areas to support business needs and ensure a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns, counting change back according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
• Participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.

• Retail customer experience preferred.
