About the position

The Baker/Pastry Chef position at Jaho Coffee involves working in a state-of-the-art bakery to produce high-quality breads and pastries. This full-time role offers great growth opportunities and requires a self-driven, creative individual who takes pride in their craft. The position demands teamwork and the ability to consistently follow recipes while managing the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Make base doughs such as laminated, brioche, muffin/scone, pie/tart etc.
  • Make and assemble cakes
  • Shape breads and bagels
  • Make and decorate donuts
  • Make frostings and glazings
  • Follow recipes and scale up or down as needed
  • Perform stove-top and oven production
  • Clean and close the kitchen
  • Lift up to 60lbs
  • Operate commercial size mixers, dishwasher, sheeter, and ovens
  • Ask for help or direction when needed
  • Troubleshoot quickly and calmly
  • Work in an organized and clean manner
  • Stay active and handle the physical requirements of the job

Requirements

  • Experience or training as a baker/pastry chef
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, and high-volume kitchen
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude in the workplace
  • Passion for baking/pastries and ideally coffee
  • Full-time and flexible availability, including weekends
  • Long-term commitment
