About the position

The Bakery Clerk at Mariano's, part of the Kroger family, is responsible for assisting customers and ensuring that bakery products are well-stocked and presented. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment and may involve working weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in the bakery department
• Keep bakery products stocked and maintain full display cases
• Evaluate and verify bakery product quality to meet company standards
• Perform department housekeeping duties
• Answer telephones and take cake orders
• Promote and follow company initiatives and comply with corporate policies
• Perform cashier functions and sample products
• Use public announcements to draw customers to the department

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to work within set time frames
• Familiarity with bakery terms and processes
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
• Ability to work weekends and any shift as needed
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Experience in customer service is preferred
