About the position

The Bakery Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bakery department in a retail store. This role includes managing staff, ensuring product quality, maintaining inventory, and meeting company goals and performance indicators. The Bakery Lead plays a crucial role in training associates, implementing company policies, and ensuring compliance with food safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the bakery department operations.
• Order and maintain inventory while ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for quality and condition.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with all products and promotions in the department.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plans to company expectations.
• Support the department manager in scheduling, labor control, and payroll management.
• Implement company core values and competencies in daily operations.
• Attend and participate in daily huddles and manager meetings.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department following safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization and prioritization skills.
• Strong leadership abilities in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of suggestive selling and products.
