About the position

We are a well-established fresh-food marketplace and event catering company, privately held and operated, with a deep passion for creating delicious dishes and menus for special occasions. Our offerings range from fine dining experiences to relaxed buffets, and we also specialize in custom cakes and wedding cakes. We are seeking a Bakery Manager who will take on hands-on responsibilities while managing a staff of 20. This role is crucial in implementing processes and practices across the department, formulating strategies to improve performance, procuring materials, managing inventory, overseeing logistics, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and local health mandates. The Bakery Manager will be responsible for developing the team to enhance the quality of customer service and implementing best practices at all levels. This includes monitoring inventory levels, department efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards. The role also involves managing financial data, including budgets and forecasts, inventory management, workflow optimization, quality control, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, the Bakery Manager will handle scheduling and logistics, coordinating projects such as holiday specials and bakery promotions with other departments to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bakery management or as a pastry chef, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong leadership skills are essential, along with knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, inventory control practices, and managing food costs. The candidate should also be well-versed in food safety regulations and possess the ability to implement proper procedures. Excellent customer service skills are a must, with a focus on creating a positive experience for our customers. Experience in hiring and training bakery staff is also required.
