About the position

The Buyer, RTW at Balenciaga is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the collection buy and conducting extensive data analysis for the Americas region. This position requires a close collaboration with Finance and Planning teams to manage merchandise budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities. The Buyer will monitor sales and key performance indicators across various retail channels, including full-price stores, concessions, and outlets. This role is essential in ensuring that the assortment aligns with the global strategy and meets the market's needs. In this position, the Buyer will oversee buying activities during sales campaigns, ensuring the selection, quantities, and assortment by store are relevant and strategic. They will conduct thorough sales and KPI analyses to define actionable plans that optimize business performance. As the RTW expert, the Buyer will provide monthly qualitative, quantitative, and competitive reports to both Management and the Global Merchandising team, evaluating competitive market trends within the luxury environment. The Buyer will also communicate and partner with the Retail team to align business strategies with the yearly sales plan. Responsibilities include managing reorders and inter-store transfers, executing proactive consolidations to ensure profitability, and managing inventory levels and merchandise flow for all Americas outlet locations. Additionally, the Buyer will collaborate with Client Engagement and Training teams to align CRM activities and identify opportunities for client base development. They will work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure successful collection launches and product priorities, as well as coordinate with the Public Relations team for product alignment with local editorials. Regular visits to stores and markets will be necessary to understand clientele needs and provide product training as required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee buying activities during the sales campaign to build the most relevant assortment in line with global strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and Planning to manage the open-to-buy seasonally.
  • Conduct sales and KPIs analysis and define action plans to optimize the business.
  • Act as the RTW expert, providing monthly qualitative, quantitative, and competitive reports and market needs for Management and Global Merchandising team.
  • Evaluate competitive market trends within the luxury environment.
  • Communicate and partner with Retail team on business strategies in order to achieve yearly sales plan.
  • Manage reorders and inter-store transfers.
  • Execute proactive consolidations to ensure profitability and satisfy market's needs.
  • Manage inventory levels, merchandise flow and pricing for all Americas outlet locations.
  • Partner with Client Engagement/Training teams in order to align CRM activities and trainings to identify opportunities to develop client base.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising team to ensure successful collection launches and product priorities.
  • Partner with Public Relations team to ensure product alignment with local editorials.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Inventory Control teams on pricing and stock flow management.
  • Regularly visit Store stores / markets to understand the clientele and needs of each store and provide necessary product training.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in buying roles, preferably within a luxury retail environment.
  • Knowledge of Fashion Industry and market trends.
  • Good digital and IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Understanding of Sales and Performance KPIs.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize task execution based on business needs.
  • Rigor, sense of organization and multi-tasking management.
