About The Position

The Baler Operator at Waste Management is responsible for operating and tending to machines that compress and bind various materials such as paper and cloth. This role is essential for ensuring efficient processing and storage of materials in a recycling facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tend the baling machine to compress and bind materials.
• Transport materials to the baling machine.
• Place materials in the compression chamber of the baling machine.
• Activate the machine to compress materials using levers or electric switches.
• Thread tie bands around bales and secure them by twisting or clamping the ends.
• Open compression chamber doors and remove bales from the machine.
• Transport bales to storage, weigh them, and record the weight.
• Line the compression chamber with appropriate covering before baling.
• Sew or tie wrapping in place after baling and stencil bales.
