About the position

The Substitute Band Teacher position at Music & Arts involves providing music instruction at schools where regular Music Educators are unavailable. This role is essential for maintaining the continuity of music education and fostering a love for music among students. Ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching music and a high level of energy, contributing to the organization's mission of developing new generations of musicians.

Responsibilities

• Stand in as the teacher for music classes at schools where Music Educators are unavailable.
• Assist with student recruitment or after school events as needed.
• Prepare or follow given lesson plans for days that you are teaching.
• Provide progress reports of the students when required, including student attendance.
• Maintain quality relationships with school administration and principals.
• Coordinate with Music Educators to participate in their concerts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is required (Music Education degree preferred).
• Some teaching experience preferred.
• Applicable for State Teaching License.
• Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance.
