About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in the bank's senior management team, responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance. This position requires extensive experience in banking or credit union environments, with a focus on fiscal management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the bank's senior management and strategic planning teams.
  • Review and stay current with GAAP, legislation, and regulations affecting the bank.
  • Oversee financial regulatory report preparation and submission.
  • Responsible for accounting including general ledger, purchasing, accounts payable activities, payroll and taxes.
  • Manage 3rd party audit relationships and processes.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, practices and internal controls.
  • Manage the Bank's financial reporting process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly/annual Board of Directors reports.
  • Provide expertise for Asset & Liability management and Interest Rate Risk monitoring.
  • Responsible for financial modeling/budgeting and analysis.
  • Manage and administer the Bank's Bond portfolio.
  • Assist in Corporate Governance and Corporate Structure Initiatives.
  • Work closely with Compliance Officer on complex issues and internal audit functions.
  • Responsible for Information technology and oversight of IT Team.
  • Manage Human Resources including 3rd party HR provider and employee benefit plans.
  • Oversee vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing systems and procedures for efficiency.
  • Approve recommendations for automated systems or vendors.
  • Oversee equipment acquisition and implementation process.
  • Ensure effective management of the bank security program.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects and prepare reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in technology initiatives including Fiserv development and new product development.
  • Participate in various management and Board level committees.
  • Review innovations in the banking industry and evaluate their practicality.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in banking or credit union CFO or strong Bank Controller experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and risk management principles.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and data collection.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial documents and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Knowledge of compliance with state and federal laws affecting financial services.
  • Experience in managing IT and HR functions within a bank.
