About the position

The Bank Manager at BMO Financial Group is responsible for guiding, directing, and coaching employees to deliver exceptional service to customers. This role involves understanding customer needs, advising on financial products, and supporting sales and service activities to achieve strategic goals. The Bank Manager also fosters a culture aligned with BMO's values, develops branch business plans, and builds relationships within the community to enhance the bank's visibility and customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Guide, direct, and coach employees to deliver exceptional service to customers.
  • Advise customers on products and strategies that meet their financial objectives.
  • Identify and make referrals to other business groups.
  • Support sales and customer service activities to meet strategic goals.
  • Conduct sales calls and establish a personal referral network.
  • Develop and maintain a network in the community to enhance the Bank's visibility.
  • Resolve customer-related issues using knowledge of bank services and products.
  • Build the business plan for the branch and monitor performance against it.
  • Lead the implementation of new programs, products, and processes within the branch.
  • Provide technical training and support to branch employees.

Requirements

  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail banking products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of competitive marketplace and trends in product offerings.
  • Working knowledge of branch operational processes and policies.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and team skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Influence skills and data-driven decision-making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consumer loan origination as defined by Regulation Z and the S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, audit standards, and related policies.
