About the position

The Bank Teller position involves operating a teller window to provide various banking services to customers, including processing transactions, answering inquiries, and cross-selling bank products. The role requires maintaining a thorough knowledge of bank services and ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to bank policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions on Teller Processing System including deposits, check cashing, loan payments, and safe deposit box payments.
• Examine checks for endorsement and legality, and verify identification and funds availability.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of bank products and services to recommend appropriate options to customers.
• Balance cash drawer daily and assist in daily ATM settlement with the manager.
• Answer incoming phone calls regarding account inquiries and resolve problems with accounts.
• Sell treasurer's checks and money orders, and process applications for Master Money Cards.
• Open new night depository agreements for business customers and process deposits under dual control.
• Complete CTRs as required and monitor cash items.
• Assist customers with account-related requests such as opening Christmas Club accounts and stop payment orders.
• Resolve discrepancies concerning customers' accounts.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Six months to one year of teller experience preferred but not required.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Computer skills to know bank teller computer systems and Microsoft Word.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in banking preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
