About the position

The incumbent on this position is responsible for accurate accountability of the cashier department activity. Performance in this position must be pleasant, efficient, and honest at all times. The role involves accurately completing and updating electronic MTL/MiL and chip bank, processing Poker Room activity, and verifying front line cashier transactions over $1,000.00. The position requires conducting transactions with other departments as needed, in the absence of Assistant Supervisor or above. The individual must be able to perform Cashier duties as needed and understand department objectives, standards, and guidelines. A thorough knowledge of casino policies for all cashier areas is essential. The role also includes maintaining security and accountability over all funds, including chips, coins, tokens, cash currency, foreign cash currency, and paperwork. The incumbent must observe and verify funds received and disbursed to other departments, guests, and transactions between cashiers, ensuring all Cashier and Main Bank paperwork is accurately completed prior to sending to accounting/Audit. All internal customers must be treated with prompt, courteous, and friendly service. Flexibility with the schedule and willingness to assist in any cashiering area as needed is required. The position also involves ensuring accurate compliance with E-MTL/MiL paperwork and entry, processing table fills and credits per requests, and performing check cashing transactions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to accurately identify and cash different denominations of gaming tokens, currency, chips, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and employees.
  • Understanding of property and department policies and procedures.
  • Accounting background helpful.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work around moving equipment and non-toxic chemicals.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Willingness to work various shifts and days off.
  • Knowledge of casino functions.
  • Ability to stand on feet throughout shift.
