About the position
The Banking Center Assistant Manager at PeoplesBank is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the absence of the Banking Center Manager. This role involves supervising Banking Center Specialists and Senior Specialists, providing training and coaching, and ensuring exceptional customer service while adhering to regulatory compliance. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in relationship development and market share growth, contributing to the overall success of the banking center.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the banking center in the absence of the Banking Center Manager.
- Supervise Banking Center Specialists and Senior Specialists, providing training and coaching.
- Prepare and discuss mid-year and annual performance reviews for team members.
- Create weekly staffing schedules and approve/deny time off requests.
- Train and mentor team members on sales and service skills to achieve banking center goals.
- Conduct skills drills and observations, providing feedback to team members.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all PeoplesBank products and services.
- Lead Product Knowledge training sessions for team members.
- Resolve customer service issues and complaints in accordance with bank standards.
- Identify opportunities for relationship retention and growth, referring customers to appropriate partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in banking or customer service.
- Detailed knowledge of bank products and services.
- Extensive knowledge of banking regulations including Reg CC, Reg DD, BSA, and Fair Lending.

- Knowledge of financial education and community engagement activities.
