About the position

The Banking Center Assistant Manager at PeoplesBank is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the absence of the Banking Center Manager. This role includes supervising staff, providing training and development, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in relationship development and market share growth while managing operational tasks and staff performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the banking center in the absence of the Banking Center Manager.
  • Supervise Banking Center Specialists and Senior Specialists, providing training and coaching.
  • Prepare and discuss mid-year and annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Create weekly staffing schedules and approve/deny time off requests.
  • Train and coach the team on sales and service skills to achieve banking center goals.
  • Conduct skills drills and observations, providing feedback to team members.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all PeoplesBank products and services.
  • Lead Product Knowledge training sessions for team members.
  • Identify and resolve service issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Process cash, checks, and negotiables accurately and reconcile at the end of shifts.
  • Assist with business development and community engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in banking or customer service.
  • Detailed knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking regulations including Reg CC, Reg DD, BSA, and Fair Lending.
