About the position

The Banking Operations Analyst I at Stretto Inc. is a full-time position based in Irvine, CA, offering a competitive hourly wage between $27 and $29. This role is essential for providing client assistance with various banking operations, including account openings and closings, fund transfers, and other banking-related inquiries. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring smooth and accurate processing of banking instructions and transactions, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the flow of these transactions from client software to the bank and back. In this position, the analyst will learn and become proficient in all proprietary software used by the company, staying updated with software updates and enhancements. A key responsibility will be to identify, research, and resolve client issues related to the proprietary software, ensuring timely resolution to maintain client satisfaction. The analyst will also onboard new clients by gathering specific bank requirements and setting them up in the Stretto database. Daily tasks will include performing banking operations while adhering to tight deadlines, utilizing SQL for database queries and data analysis, and escalating urgent issues as necessary. Collaboration with the BankOps team is crucial, as the analyst will work together to expedite resolutions and submit requests for bug fixes while performing user acceptance testing (UAT). Continuous updates to team procedures and templates will be required as changes occur, fostering effective communication and collaboration within the team to promote a cohesive work environment conducive to problem-solving and success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide client assistance with account openings and closings, fund transfers, FED wires, checks, ACH, stop payments, monthly reconciliation, W9's and other banking related questions through email and phone calls.
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of the flow of banking instructions and transactions from client software to the bank and back, ensuring smooth and accurate processing.
  • Learn and become proficient in all proprietary software, and stay up to date with all software updates.
  • Identify, research and resolve client issues with proprietary software.
  • Ensure client issues are resolved timely to client's satisfaction by working with banks and internal teams.
  • Investigate and pursue root causes for reported issues to ensure thorough resolution.
  • Onboard new clients by obtaining specific bank requirements and set up clients in the Stretto database.
  • Perform daily banking tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Use SQL to query databases daily and perform data analysis.
  • Timely escalation of urgent or unresolved issues, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with BankOps team and escalate to higher levels when necessary to expedite resolution.
  • Submit requests for bug fixes and perform user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Continuously update team procedures and templates as changes occur.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration within the team, promoting a cohesive work environment conducive to problem-solving and team success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Finance strongly preferred.
  • At least two years of prior banking experience, preferably in operations, or equivalent experience in the banking industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with supporting proprietary software is a plus.
  • Bankruptcy knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
