About the position

The Banner Financial Systems Analyst at Hiram College plays a crucial role in supporting the College's Banner Enterprise System, which encompasses Student, Finance, and Human Resources Information Systems. This position is integral to the operations of the Business Office, Human Resources Office, and Student Financial Services Office, providing essential support for reporting needs across the campus. The Analyst will engage in continual collaboration with end-users to identify their needs, assess current operations, and evaluate reporting and data inventories. This involves building or modifying existing processes and reports to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. A key responsibility of the Banner Financial Systems Analyst is to define and process standard data requests while analyzing the utilization of data and reporting. The Analyst will also be tasked with defining and executing a long-term strategic solution to optimize data and reporting utilization. This role requires a commitment to contributing to the overall business improvement process, emphasizing the importance of creating and maintaining collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from all departments. The position demands a high level of expertise in a wide range of Banner Systems Knowledge, SQL, and Business Intelligence reporting techniques. The Analyst will be expected to constantly contribute to the improvement of business processes and maintain a strong focus on customer requirements and needs. Additionally, the role may involve performing other duties as assigned, with reasonable accommodations made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary system support of the Banner Enterprise System for the Business Office, Human Resources Office, and Student Financial Services Office.
  • Continual collaboration with end-users to identify customer requirements, needs, assess current system, reporting and data inventories, and building or modifying existing systems & reports.
  • Define and process standard data requests as well as analyze all utilization of data and reporting.
  • Define and execute a longer-term strategic solution to system, data and reporting utilization.
  • Maintain expertise in a wide range of Banner Systems Knowledge, SQL and Business Intelligence reporting techniques, practices, procedures, and field concepts.
  • Constantly contribute to the overall business improvement process.
  • Create and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from all departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong Banner systems skills and knowledge.
  • SQL skills and relational database knowledge; Oracle Apex or other business intelligence software highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
  • 3 years of significant experience in the field of Banner systems analysis, business intelligence development, reporting, data integrity and verification.
  • Understanding that a high degree of professional confidentiality is expected with this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Access to a PC with Internet connectivity during off-hours.
