About the position

The Banquet Event Admin at the Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, is responsible for supporting the execution of events by managing food labeling, communication with culinary teams, and ensuring all materials are prepared and delivered on time. This part-time role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent service to guests.

Responsibilities

  • Create food labels for banquet and retail teams with attention to accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure compliance with food allergy, dietary, and other relevant requirements.
  • Ensure food labels meet high presentation standards, including proper sizing and formatting.
  • Resize labels to the required size and organize them for event Captains to deliver for each event.
  • Create and prepare event packets for Captains and produce copies, including assignments and event-specific details.
  • Ensure timely communication and delivery of all required materials to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ensure all supplies, including paper and label-making materials, are stocked and at par levels.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
  • Provide support for check-in/check-out processes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate counts for banquet events including breakfast, lunch, breaks, receptions, dinners, and other scheduled activities.
  • Accurately track attendee counts during designated catering events using a manual clicker in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with the check-in process when needed.
  • Provide unmatched service to guests.
  • Remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment, follow directions thoroughly, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Provide accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and be knowledgeable about all aspects of the Venetian Expo services and events.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, urgency, and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in working with chefs and event teams.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, including printers, and basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in an administrative role, preferably within the food and beverage or events industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of food allergies, ingredients, and dietary restrictions is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
