About the position

The Banquet Event Manager will oversee the planning and execution of events at a high-end, historic property near Omaha, ensuring alignment with the venue's commitment to sustainability and guest satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships within the team and with guests, while also managing budgets, staffing, and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Establish training plans and engage team members.
  • Manage the budget, staffing, and inventory for events.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders and participate in weekly BEO meetings.
  • Work professionally with all internal and external customers to foster relationships.
  • Maintain positive guest satisfaction scores and improve processes continuously.
  • Stay updated on technology trends and create purchasing plans for improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience leading events and banquets.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Hotel/Resort event experience.
  • Proven ability to select, train, support, and develop supervisors and front-line staff.
  • Broad understanding of technology in a conference center capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
