About the position

As a Banquets Server at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service during banquet events. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing coffee breaks, carts, and stations with the appropriate food and beverages as outlined in the Banquet Event Order. You will be responsible for setting up tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert tables, and cordial carts, ensuring that all arrangements meet the high standards of the Ritz-Carlton brand. Communication is key in this role; you will need to relay any additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction. In addition to setup, you will be tasked with clearing courses and properly crumbing tables to maintain a clean dining environment. It is essential to respond to and fulfill any special banquet event arrangements, as well as to replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation. Monitoring tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of your assigned station and service areas will also be part of your daily duties. You will be expected to bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware, and flatware, while adhering to all company safety and security policies. Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to your manager is crucial, as is completing safety training and certifications. Your personal appearance must be clean and professional, and you will need to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information while protecting company assets. Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards is a vital part of your role. You will anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation to guests. Clear and professional communication with others is expected, as is supporting your team to reach common goals and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards. You will need to read and visually verify information in various formats, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier objects with assistance. This role requires fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, as well as the ability to navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs. You may also be asked to perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Less than 1-year related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific license or certification required.
