The Portrait Bar is an urbane, wood-paneled retreat where guests can enjoy sophisticated cocktails and snack on elevated bar fare by a carved stone fireplace. The ambiance is rich and intimate, inspired by Italian villas, with dark wood paneling that holds an exceptional art collection, which tells a story of lives and experiences. The cocktail list, curated by Bar Director Darryl Chan, features a mix of modern and classic variations that evoke a sense of place, while the menu reflects the collective travels of the team, offering a fun yet centered taste of the world. Ideal candidates will thrive in this environment, ensuring that every guest has a stellar experience while managing the demands of a busy bar setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of The Portrait Bar, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor staff to provide warm and gracious service.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring the bar is well-stocked and organized.
  • Assist in creating and updating the cocktail menu, reflecting seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and poise.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including DOH Food Protection standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in fine dining establishments.
  • Warm and gracious service approach with the ability to create stellar guest experiences.
  • High level of functioning and poised demeanor in busy environments.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a large group.
  • Skilled with OpenTable and MICROS POS systems, a plus.
  • DOH Food Protection certified.
  • Open availability and career-driven attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of cocktail preparation and mixology techniques.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a hospitality environment.
