About the position

A Bariatric Surgery Physician Surgeon practice is seeking a qualified physician for Abilene, TX. This position is part of a regional healthcare leader that is actively recruiting a Bariatric Surgeon. The practice is located within a 150-mile radius of the largest regional medical center, making it an attractive opportunity for both practicing and experienced physicians as well as fellows. The ideal candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Bariatric Surgery and must hold a valid Texas medical license or be eligible for one. The position offers flexibility with options for employment or solo practice, catering to the preferences of the physician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bariatric surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient education programs regarding weight loss and surgical options.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients.
  • Engage in continuing medical education to stay current with advancements in bariatric surgery.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Bariatric Surgery.
  • Valid Texas medical license or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Experience in bariatric surgery, with a preference for practicing and experienced physicians as well as fellows.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with outpatient surgical procedures.
  • Fellowship training in Bariatric Surgery.
