About the position

The Kavatender position at Alchemist Kava involves providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving botanical beverages in a social lounge environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The Kavatender will work part-time, primarily during afternoon and evening shifts, and will have opportunities for growth within the business.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests with a positive and professional demeanor
• Educate guests about botanical products
• Prep and prepare kava and botanical teas; learn recipes
• Restock and replenish bar inventory
• Clean lounge by emptying trash, mopping and sanitizing tables and equipment
• Possess a positive attitude and take initiative

Requirements

• Must be at a minimum of 18 years of age
• Must have prior service-industry experience
• Knowledge of botanical beverages is a plus (Kava, Hemp, Kratom, etc.)
• Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to adhere to directions
• Must check customers' identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age for 21+ beverages
• Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds and stand for the duration of a shift
• Ability to work 25-30 hours/week; reliability is essential
