About the position

The Barista at City Brew plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and promoting the company's culture. As the primary point of contact for customers, the Barista is responsible for greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, and serving high-quality food and beverages. This position emphasizes the importance of customer interaction and maintaining a positive atmosphere within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Work scheduled shifts providing exceptional customer service.
  • Sell coffee and coffee-related products.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of City Brew Coffee drinks and food items.
  • Act as the visible 'face' of City Brew for customers.
  • Address and problem-solve customer concerns during shifts.
  • Maintain constant communication with Shift Leaders and Store Managers.
  • Welcome customers with a positive attitude and determine their needs.
  • Educate customers on the beverage and food menu and assist in product selection.
  • Prepare and sell various beverage and food items following prescribed recipes.
  • Maintain inventory by replenishing supplies and stocking equipment.
  • Keep equipment clean and operable, following safety standards.
  • Promote the corporate culture and vision of City Brew to other employees.
  • Support changes made by Store Managers with a positive attitude.
  • Comply with dress code, punctuality, and attendance expectations.
  • Accept constructive criticism and seek opportunities for growth.
  • Respond to pressing needs during shifts and engage leadership when necessary.
  • Understand and implement store cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work varied hours during high capacity business hours.
  • Elicit customer feedback and effectively address concerns.
  • Communicate ideas and recommendations for improvement to leadership.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to update knowledge.
