About the position

The Barista/Line Crew position at La Kazba Cafe involves providing exceptional customer service in a vibrant Moroccan atmosphere. The role focuses on preparing and serving specialty coffee drinks and food items while ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards. Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter and promote positive relations with guests
• Maintain coffee bar and service/display area in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner; returning ingredients to storage after use to ensure freshness
• Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (washing hands, cleaning, wearing gloves, aprons, hair nets, etc.)
• Introduce customers to the menu and answer their questions
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios, etc.)
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like breakfast items, pastries, entrees, salads, desserts, etc.
• Receive and process payments
• Wash and maintain stock of clean mugs, plates, and silverware
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommendations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
• A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills
• Possession of Food Handler's Card (preferred)
• Previous experience in fast-paced environment preferred
• Excellent Communication skills
• Basic reading skills (to read orders on tickets or screen)
• Organizational skills
• Multi-task oriented
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
• Flexibility to work different shifts
