About the position

The Barista position at Blue Moon involves working directly with customers and managers to provide excellent service while preparing a variety of food and drinks. This role is essential to the cafe's operations, requiring both customer interaction and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Take customer orders and prepare bagels, sandwiches, salads, etc.
• Step in to help in any of the service areas as needed.
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if applicable.
• Present food/drink options, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding products.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the cafe.
• Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the General Manager.
• Assist in the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of retail/hospitality experience.
• Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests.
• Working knowledge of cafe/restaurant operations.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
