About the position

The Barista position at Timewise Food Stores involves providing exceptional customer service while preparing specialty drinks and assisting with food preparation. This full-time role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for customers and co-workers, as well as handling cash and credit card transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all customers and co-workers.
• Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs.
• Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages per brand standards.
• Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards.
• Count, organize, and balance the cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip, and make deposits.
• Adhere to Timewise's cash handling policies and procedures.
• Set up and break down the coffee bar, stations, or store including cleaning and sanitizing.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Stock beverage coolers, grab-and-go items, service ware, and condiments.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a barista preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team required.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
• Must be willing to cross-train for other tasks such as food preparation.
• Basic math & counting skills required.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must follow the required dress code as assigned.
• Able to read and communicate in English and able to follow recipes.
• Able to complete Food Handling Certification as required.
