About the position

As a Barista at Mulberry & Main, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience in a family-owned coffee bar and kitchen. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests, taking orders, preparing beverages, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The position emphasizes customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest with a welcoming and kind approach
• Take guest orders at point of sale with mindfulness to accuracy
• Accept payments with high integrity and consistency to standard operating procedures
• Prepare all beverages including coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and smoothies
• Occasionally assist with pouring beer and serving wine (age permitted)
• Learn the entire menu and dietary considerations to offer considerate customer service
• Check on guests to ensure a positive experience and recommend menu items
• Assist customers with coffee and espresso beverage education
• Occasionally assist with drink specials and promotions
• Pre-bus and bus seating at the bar and in the dining room
• Set-up, organize, and clean behind the bar to ensure proper operations
• Complete all opening, shift change, and closing procedures thoroughly
• Label and store all food and supplies appropriately behind the bar
• Clean restrooms and remove trash during shift change or closing
• Manage par levels and track inventory behind the bar
• Participate in ongoing training to develop skills and performance
• Learn and adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook
• Contribute to an environment of open communication and respect
• Keep the restaurant clean, organized, and guest ready
• Assist in marketing and promotional events when applicable
• Provide exceptional customer service to team members and guests
• Comply with health code standards and cleanliness requirements
• Arrive on time to work with a positive attitude
• Perform other duties as assigned
