About the position

The Barista position at Apothecary Coffee involves providing exceptional customer service in a specialty coffee shop environment. Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging customer service by welcoming customers and engaging with them throughout their experience.
• Determine customer needs by asking questions and sharing product knowledge.
• Serve customers with a sense of urgency and purpose, ensuring they come first.
• Learn and remember repeat customers' preferences.
• Provide consistent quality in the preparation of coffees, teas, and other items.
• Participate actively in training to learn new drinks, techniques, and menu items.
• Meet standards set by leadership and participate in social media marketing.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked store, including cleaning equipment and the coffee area.
• Manage supply inventory and coordinate with vendors to maintain appropriate stock.

Requirements

• 1+ years of barista experience is required.
• Must have a passion for outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work mornings and have open availability and schedule flexibility.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Upbeat and energetic attitude throughout the work day.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple customer requests simultaneously.
• Prompt and reliable transportation is necessary.
• Understanding of proper coffee and tea methods and techniques.
• Current Skagit County Food Handler Permit is required.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Efficient time management skills are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.

Benefits

• Base wage of $17-18/hour plus tips.
