About the position

The Services Specialist will utilize child welfare practice skills to ensure children are protected from abuse and neglect. Specialists work closely with families and the legal system toward a goal of reunification, independent living, or other permanent living situations. This position is located in Hastings, MI, and offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a combination of remote and office work.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize child welfare practice skills to protect children from abuse and neglect.
  • Work closely with families and the legal system to achieve reunification or other permanent living situations.
  • Conduct assessments and develop service plans for families in need.
  • Collaborate with community resources and agencies to support families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case activities and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in child welfare or social services is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child welfare laws and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public health.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
