About the position

The Bartender at Great Wolf Lodge is responsible for providing friendly and responsive service to guests while ensuring a fun and safe environment. This role involves preparing cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, monitoring inventory, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the bar area. The Bartender also plays a key role in enforcing alcohol consumption standards and ensuring guest safety.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, cocktails, and juices.
  • Prepare garnishes and mix drinks for guests according to recipes.
  • Assess customer needs and preferences and make recommendations.
  • Maintain an attractive and orderly appearance of the bar area through arrangement of bottles and glassware.
  • Ensure the bar area adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service.
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain draught beer equipment; connect couplings to beer barrels and to faucet.
  • Ensure a safe and secure bar area by enforcing standards and procedures for alcohol consumption; comply with all legal regulations.
  • Monitor customers' alcohol consumption and refuse service and/or call for alternate transportation as necessary.
  • Maintain supplies via ordering, requisitioning, or re-stocking snacks, liquors, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages; replace kegs/beer barrels; prepare garnishes.
  • Enhance skillset and knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; stay abreast of industry trends; experiment with new cocktail recipes.
  • Perform cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous bartending training and/or experience; demonstrated knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Understanding of sanitation-related issues and knowledge of precautions necessary to ensure a clean beverage preparation environment.
