About the position
We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, and creating and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and beer. You will play a crucial role in ensuring total guest satisfaction by providing excellent service and going the extra mile whenever possible. You will also be responsible for setting up the bar prior to opening, maintaining cleanliness throughout your shift, and completing necessary side-work as per the schedule. This includes stocking and organizing all liquor, juices, glassware, and other supplies. Additionally, you will answer guests' questions about menu items and beverages, utilize suggestive selling techniques, and ensure that all orders are accurate before serving.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and take drink/food orders.
- Create and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails and beer.
- Assist and approach all guests in a sincere, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Learn and use guest's names to address them and remember regular guests' favorite drinks.
- Set up the bar prior to opening and ensure cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Complete necessary side-work including stocking and organizing supplies.
- Answer guest's questions regarding menu items and beverages confidently and accurately.
- Utilize suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages.
- Check guest orders prior to serving to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining beverage cost by reducing unnecessary waste.
- Conduct and be aware of inventory and requisition daily supplies as needed.
- Take orders accurately and complete cashiering functions using the POS system.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working in a resort bar environment.
- Must meet age requirements to serve alcohol as defined by state law.
